Project Overview
Connected Horizons is a European Erasmus+ project led by Hajia Adiza e.V. in partnership with Universal View (France) and Asociación Juventud para Cultura y Minorías (Spain).
Its core mission is to foster social inclusion and active citizenship among adult migrants by strengthening the skills of educators and civil society actors through intercultural learning and participatory education.
Where we are now
After over a year of collaboration, the project has entered a crucial stage.
We are currently analyzing the results of our transnational activities and co-developing an educational guide that reflects the collective intelligence and field experiences shared across Europe.
What is the guide about?
Based on experiences from Germany, France, and Spain, the guide focuses on:
Co-designing educational tools with migrants, educators, and local actors
🔁 Reviewing and adapting content for diverse cultural backgrounds and migration experiences
🌐 Publishing all resources online to ensure open access for professionals and learners across Europe
It offers hands-on tools to:
✅ Promote civic engagement among migrant communities
✅ Strengthen intercultural competencies among educators
✅ Build more inclusive, participatory learning spaces
🧭 Two Modular Learning Paths
👥 Civic Discovery Path – for adult migrants
* Understand rights and civic responsibilities
* Engage in democratic processes
* Embrace identity as a civic strength
🎓 Professionalisation Path , for educators and social workers
* Facilitate inclusive and participatory learning environments
* Use intercultural dialogue to empower learners
* Evaluate and adapt projects for diverse audiences
🎯 Key Objectives
🌍 Promote awareness of global issues from a local perspective
🗳️ Encourage participation of migrants in public life
🧰 Provide adaptable, practice-oriented tools for professionals
📚 Ensure access in four languages: English, French, German, Spanish
🇪🇺 A European Vision Rooted in Local Realities
From Barcelona to Hamburg to Bordeaux, over 50 participants took part in our intercultural workshops and mobilities.
Their voices, stories, and actions are now shaping a guide that bridges education, identity, and civic action, across borders and beyond stereotypes.
